Marketers have learned many ways over the years to use SEO to the advantage of their clients. But, like most tools that have been around awhile, some marketers are taking SEO for granted and continue to make continuous blunders that eventually rob them of the cream of their customer base. Because clients evolve as well — and when they discover their marketing team or agency is simply sliding along on what worked yesterday, they tend to quickly find another marketing team that is dedicated to be fresh and innovative. So look out for these all-too-common SEO mistakes.
It’s not an assembly line
There’s a different template for each SEO account. Or, there should be. SEO marketers who get stuck in a rut and use cookie cutter strategies for their clients are not giving full value for their fees. When out of unique ideas, simply go to a competitor and find something that works for them, then adopt and adapt.
Never pay for links or clicks
This SEO strategy is losing ground fast with all reputable advertising and marketing agencies and individuals. Today’s technology allows customers to differentiate between organic SEO traffic to their sites and the faux clicks and likes and links that are completely meaningless and used only to inflate statistics and fees. Drop this practice like a hot potato.
